What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning 'Universal Life Energy' and is an ancient form of energy healing. It is known by other names such as 'prana' in India. Eastern medicine has known and worked for centuries with this energy, which flows through all living things via meridians or pathways.

There are many styles of Reiki and I currently offer the traditional Usui (Japanese) and Seichim (Egyptian) styles, Angel Reiki and also the Reiki Drum Technique for which you will find a separate webpage.

Traditional Usui and Seichim Reiki both channel Earth energy, but Seichim utilises additional healing frequencies of Water, Air/Spirit and Fire making this a very powerful therapy treatment as the different energies synergise. Both styles of Reiki are healing and energising, but Seichim, said to be the parent of energy healing systems has a higher feminine vibration which focuses upon the heart promoting nurturing and unconditional love.

Both styles are intuitive and use a number of different techniques such as placing the hands on or above parts of the body requiring healing. Seichim can also involve stroking or light tapping to improve blood circulation and gentle massaging or blowing to release stuck energies.

Crystal Therapy can be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments or used solely on its own to relax, re- energise, support or heal emotionally, physically and spiritually by re-aligning and balancing the bodies natural healing. It is an ideal therapy for those who feel that 'talking therapies' like counselling are not for them.

What is Crystal Therapy?

Crystals have been used for thousands of years for adornment and to influence the course of life. Ancient peoples believed crystals were gifts from the gods and their magical properties have been recognised in almost every culture. There are some stones that have been used from time immemorial, whilst new stones have emerged to aid humanity as life on earth has evolved.

The vibration and energies of our earth have been in the process of changing to a new frequency for some time. Subsequently there is a need now more than ever for natural and spiritual treatments that harness the universal energies, to support and restore healing at all levels.

Crystal Therapy acts on energy vibrations, which amplify and focus the natural energies of the recipient's mind and body. Blockages in the flow of energy are alleviated by working on the chakra points of which there are seven major ones - base, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow and crown plus a myriad of minor ones.

The chakra is a concept of Indian origin literally meaning 'wheel' and it is a system used in many different types of healing. Each chakra relates to different functions of the mind and body and also to specific colours, different crystals and gemstones.
