Life has been a huge journey of experiences for me; some extremely good, some average and some extremely difficult. Isn't this just life happening? We can't stop it we just respond to it as best we can at the time.
I have grown to understand that when life is happening to us in a negative way we may buckle under the pressure but it is at these times the way in which we respond can make a difference. It is the next stage of our journey that holds the potential for growth of the human mind and spirit.
I have worked in education as a PA, HR Advisor (CIPD trained) and Corporate Secretary and have also been involved in voluntary roles in the local Mental Health Service and Housing Sector all of which have been demanding and enjoyable whilst also allowing me to immerse myself and grow as an individual and team member. All were people centred and focused.
So why the dramatic change? Wife, mother, carer, career to forge and circumstances to respond to and the need to provide for the family are some of the driving forces that shaped my life - in that respect I am no different to anyone else. However, an opportunity arose for me to, for the first time ever, refocus my life on what I really wanted to do (and had been developing whilst working) - the opportunity to fully concentrate on my passion for helping people to find some sort of balance and normality in their lives. Never one to sit around letting the grass grow under my feet I began a different journey of my choosing and feel privileged to have had the opportunity to do so.
